The African anticyclone Charon inflames the island. A very hot week that opens in Sardinia, with temperatures well above 30 degrees and in some inland areas even above 40 .
An intense and sultry heat that will last for the entire week. Among the cities, very high temperatures are expected until Friday, especially in Oristano and Carbonia, constantly between 38 and 39. A little further down Nuoro, while in Cagliari and Sassari it will reach close to 35 . In internal areas, temperatures will even exceed 40 degrees. Tropical nights, with temperatures well above 20 degrees.
In addition to the intense heat, you will also have to deal with the sultriness because the air masses of Charon, coming from the Sahara desert, crossing the Mediterranean will be loaded with humidity which will make the climate even more unbearable .
A heat that will persist across the entire Peninsula, at least until Friday when a breath of fresh air from Northern Europe will create the conditions for the development of violent thunderstorms. Only in the North, in Sardinia will it remain muggy and hot on Friday and throughout the weekend , even if with temperatures 3-4 degrees lower.
And for today the fire alarm remains high in the Cagliari area , due to the continuing wind and high temperatures. The Civil Protection alert for today is code orange, as «the conditions are such that they can generate a fire with high fire intensity and speed of spread which, if not promptly addressed, can reach such dimensions as to make it difficult to combat with the ordinary forces, even if reinforced, the contribution of the state fleet being necessary".
