The choices on de-carbonization and the energy transition of Sardinia «cannot fail to pass through the implementation of the methanization plan and with the related backbone to transport methane first and hydrogen then, certainly not through a wild colonization of production from wind and photovoltaic" which, instead, must be rebalanced by an energy mix that includes - in addition to methane - "a fair contribution of other RES such as hydroelectric and biomass".

The CGIL of Sardinia reiterates its positions with a long document in which it also requests the establishment by law of a Sardinian Agency for industrial development and a special fund for the transition. The national CGIL, CISL and UIL unitary secretariats have already requested an urgent meeting with the ministers Pichetto Fratin and Urso, but in the meantime, the discussion has been started at a regional level with the regional councilor for Industry Emanuele Cani in which it was learned that the negotiations on the methane distribution plan have restarted and a new Sardinia Prime Ministerial Decree should be reached in a short time.

«Today's problems derive from an approach given by the national government in 2021 with decree 199, on which no action had been taken by the previous council», observes the CGIL, «Now the current one is preparing to draw the limits because the decree of June is implemented without destroying the environment, the landscape, biodiversity and ecosystems. We hope that this process can include the revision of the amount of 6.2 GW of energy from renewable sources assigned to Sardinia".

For the CGIL, a "right proportion" between wind, photovoltaic, hydroelectric in surface and underground basins, biomass, accumulations, first methane and then hydrogen is essential. We need an overall "vision" and "precise energy and industrial policy choices and directions. And guarantee measures to protect workers affected by crises, reconversions and new activities."
