The Summer Enhancement Plan promoted by the Regional Emergency and Urgency Company (Areus) ended on September 30th, which allowed for the expansion and optimization of the offer of rescue services throughout the territory managed by the 118 Central of Sassari to cope with the high tourist influx in the main seaside resorts of the north-west, Gallura, Nuorese and Ogliastra.

The Sassari Operations Center managed 30,581 interventions from June to September, of which 7,857 were red codes, 18,758 yellow and 3,821 green. The India nursing vehicles provided for by the company's summer reinforcement plan and located respectively in Santa Teresa Gallura, San Teodoro and Arzachena in the Abbiadori area performed approximately 600 missions. Of these, about fifty concerned time-dependent pathologies: stroke and myocardial infarction. In particular, the India ambulance in San Teodoro managed 4 cardiac arrests, two of which with resumption of circulation, 2 acute coronary syndromes and several polytraumas.

Significant data from the 118 summer budget concern road accidents, especially on the Orientale Sarda and the coastal road to Santa Teresa, which required rendezvous between nursing vehicles and helicopter rescue for the most serious patients. The 118 Operations Center in Sassari, in addition to following dozens of health plans viewed for the various festivals and concerts, participated in the drafting of health and assistance plans for events and important demonstrations such as the Europeade in Nuoro, the Candelieri in Sassari and the Red Valley in Olbia.

Thanks to the availability of volunteer associations and social cooperatives, already affiliated with Areus, the 118 Territorial Emergency Service of Sassari has been able to count on the 24-hour extension of its hours of operation, especially in coastal areas where the daily rescue service is already operational all year round.
