Penitentiary Police operation in the Badu 'e Carros prison, in Nuoro, where during an extraordinary search in the rooms of some inmates belonging to the high security circuit , 2 mobile phones were found and seized. An intervention made even more difficult by the protests carried out by the inmates, probably to prevent the officers from finding the devices.
This was announced by the General Secretary of the Uilpa Penitentiary Police of Sardinia Michele Cireddu: «An operation masterfully conducted by our Policemen who, following complex and detailed investigative investigations, completed the search and seizure of the two cell phones – he informs - . One of the devices was cleverly hidden in a detention room and another was found on the person. The responsible prisoners were then reported to the competent Public Prosecutor's Office , awaiting the outcome of further investigations to understand whether the cell phones were used to commit or commission further crimes. The Nuoro Penitentiary Police, despite not being able to count on the presence of a permanent commander and director, has once again been able to demonstrate that it knows how to guarantee legality in an institution that seems forgotten by the Department, by other institutions and by politics".
«In fact, the staff is forced to work endless hours of overtime – continues Cireddu – which are unpaid and we have no way of knowing when these payments will be ensured. The top management figures also carry out part-time management, because they are owners in other institutions, the organization of services and work is anomalous and an overall reorganization that can allow equal opportunities among all staff is urgently needed".
