The Cavidani Alguerès returns for the fourth consecutive year, a glocal festival organized by the Edicions de l'Alguer Association and the Antica Compagnia Olearia Sarda, which will be held in the courtyard of the oil mill, in via Vittorio Emanuele 225.

Two events, Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September , confirmed the typical program of the event, always much appreciated by the public, which includes the presentation of a book published by Edicions dell'Alguer, a musical moment, and the tasting of the oil of the Antica Compagnia Olearia Sarda, accompanied by the bread of the artisan bakery Cherchi, the cheese of the agricultural company Monteforte dei Fratelli Riu and the wine of Tenute Delogu: all products of the agri-food excellence of the territory. The tastings will be guided by the food and wine expert Giuseppe Izza.

It starts on Friday, at 7 pm, with the musical group Muristene, composed of Francesco Morittu, Giovanna Tanda, Agostino Sanna, Giuseppe Tanda and Mauro Morittu, a heterogeneous and original quintet that cultivates the musical tradition of Alghero. It will be followed by the presentation of the book Acudiu...Acudiu… Comedies per les escoles, edited by Enza Castellaccio with Vittorio Guillot, Silvana Nulvesu, Simonetta Rosella, Giovanna Tilocca and the Colletiu de les Maries. It will be followed by dai Campi alla tavola, a chat by the food and wine expert Giuseppe Izza with the producers present at the festival.

On Saturday, at 7 pm, the evening will open with the splendid voice of Vittoria Lacana, singer-songwriter, revelation of the Alghero Song Festival 2024. Immediately after, Giovanni Destro Bisol, professor of Anthropology and Human Biodiversity at La Sapienza University in Rome and Marco Caria, professor at the University of Sassari, together with Salvatore Izza, director of Edicions de l'Alguer, will present the book "The Italians we don't know. Languages, DNA and paths of historical minority communities", published by Edicions de l'Alguer with the patronage of the Italian Institute of Anthropology, the result of an initiative aimed at raising awareness of the culture, genetics and even food traditions of little-known groups, but who have occupied our country for a long time. The evening will close with the Pro Arte male choir and the Le note Ribelli female choir, directed by maestro Domenico Balzani, a moment dedicated to bel canto with a group that is enjoying ever-increasing success, directed by an internationally renowned baritone like Domenico Balzani. The evening will end with tastings and pleasant conversation. Because “ it’s nice to think global and act local” , as the Cavidani Alguerès slogan says.
