A barrage of checks in Sassari by the Guardia di Finanza, in the first two months of this year, against unfair commercial practices in large-scale retail outlets.

In particular, the military verified compliance with price transparency, by comparing the prices of the products displayed on the shelves with those actually applied to the checkouts.

The Fiamme Gialle checked eight commercial establishments considered to be at higher risk, ascertaining that in six of these there was a discrepancy between the price displayed and that applied for a variable range of products, with differences of up to over 30%.

Among the various product categories (food, perfumers, personal care and home care products), 121 products were selected on a sample basis, finding irregularities in 12% of cases and non-uniform prices for 15 different items on sale.

The detected irregularities were then reported for the related sanctions.

The Consumer Code, a provision that collects all the consumer protection legislation, provides for a pecuniary administrative sanction that can range from a minimum of 5 thousand to a maximum of 500 thousand euros for those who engage in unfair commercial practices.
