We traveled the 131 for all its 231.5 kilometers, up to the ferry dock that goes from Porto Torres to Genoa.

On the road

The first, important, lane reduction is at the Cagliari exit towards Monastir. A little further on, immediately signaled by the reflectors installed by Anas, a new lane reduction at kilometer 21, Senorbì junction. It flows in one lane also from kilometer 27 (Nuraminis junction) for a short stretch. Same scenario from kilometer 33, just before the entrance to Serrenti. And from kilometer 36 to 37, exit for Furtei, where work is underway to resurface the road. By the way: up to this point the asphalt, apart from a few slight imperfections, seems to have held up to traffic, time and bad weather. But from kilometer 45, junction for Guspini, it dances for a bit because of the potholes patched up as best as possible.

Serenity and surprises

Again, double narrowing for works: first from kilometre 114 to 117, then from 119, with the division of the carriageway to facilitate two-way traffic, in practice up to the junction for the 131 Dir towards Nuoro and Olbia. Works and reduction of the carriageway to two lanes also between kilometres 142 and 144 on the side between Birori and the Santa Barbara nuraghe and between kilometres 158 and 161, between the junction for Bonorva sud and the entrance to the town of Bonorva. New block and two-way traffic on two lanes at the height of Cossoine, from kilometre 163 to 166, a handful of kilometres from the junction for Giave. And again, throughout the Chighizzu tunnel, from kilometre 205 towards the exit for Sassari viale Italia. Finally, from kilometre 208, just before the Truncone tunnel, for a few hundred metres.

Furthermore, the asphalt should be largely renewed: despite recent improvements, the decades-old potholes that have been patched up and reopened in the meantime do not contribute to the health of suspensions and shock absorbers, to the detriment (not only economic) of motorists.
