The Municipality of Cagliari must activate the "career alias" to protect Trans + employees. The proposal comes through a motion that bears the first signature of the councilor Giulia Andreozzi (Possible) : from February it is waiting to be discussed, but it is on the agenda of the classroom meeting scheduled for tomorrow, October 4.

What are we talking about? Protection of rights. The "career alias" was born with the activation of an alternative and temporary profile, for employees who do not recognize themselves in the gender "assigned at birth" as we say today with reference to biological sex - and who, therefore, intend to be recognized by it another: the perceived one.

For Cagliari it would not be new. Andreozzi in the motion cites the example of the University: "The envisaged procedure provides for the signing of a confidential agreement, following which the University undertakes to activate the alias career, by assigning a provisional, transitory and not consolidable and to issue the applicant with a new alias badge indicating their surname, the name chosen by the same and the university matriculation. Both badges ", it says," will remain in use by the student, in compliance with the limits contained in the regulations, for the entire duration of the transition period until the "new" documents are presented ".

With the council initiative we want to activate the same mechanism also in the Municipality. Where numerous competitions have been held. And among those who passed the tests "it is possible that there are Trans + people, whose working life (but in the first place whose dignity)", according to Andreozzi, "would be better guaranteed if they were allowed to identify themselves, in working relationships, with the chosen name and perceived identity ".

The motion serves to bind the junta. The debate in the classroom promises to be hot.
