When the police reached him, at the height of a chase complete with flashing lights and sirens, the driver attempted to flee on foot.

But he couldn't stand up and fell twice. He was clearly intoxicated. The soldiers of the Lanusei company, engaged in a service at the Cea junction, reported a 35-year-old from Tortolì: the Prosecutor's Office is accusing him of driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal possession of weapons. The facts date back to last weekend.

The personnel of the Arma noticed a Renault Clio traveling at high speed along the state road 125 in the direction of Cardedu. The Carabinieri, by activating the light and sound devices, ordered the driver to stop, but he continued driving, increasing the speed. At that point the chase began and ended in the town of Cardedu.

Subjected to a personal and vehicle search, the man, already known to the police, was found in possession of a switchblade. Subsequent alcohol tests revealed a rate well above the legal limit, equal to 1.96 grams per liter of blood.
