Drama this morning in Carbonia: Alessandro Meloni, 37 years old, was struck by a sudden illness, which proved fatal, while he was driving his car in via Dalmazia, not far from the Eurospin on the outskirts of the city.

Those present, noticing the anomalous trajectory of the vehicle, stopped it and immediately called for help. But unfortunately for the thirty-seven year old there was nothing that could be done.

Meloni died after 40 minutes of resuscitation attempts. It appears he had no previous pathologies.

The news immediately spread around the mining town and came as a blow to the employees of the Sirai hospital, where the victim worked: they were the ones who intervened at the scene of the drama.

«Today is a sad day for all of us», says Filctem Cgil Sardegna Sud Occidentale, a union of which the young victim was a member, «may the earth be light on you Alessandro, a comrade who on every occasion has always fought for healthcare improve".

The union "is rallying around the Meloni family and offers its deepest condolences."
