To make communication regarding adverse weather conditions quicker and easier, whether in the case of excessive heat or heavy rain or other events, the installation of four weather warning signs has begun in Carbonia , with the aim of improving the provision of emergency information related to meteorological events.

The new systems, consisting of three lanterns projecting red, orange, and yellow light, will allow for immediate communication of weather alerts issued by the Region's decentralized functional center.

"They will allow citizens," emphasizes Municipal Police Commander Andrea Usai, "to adopt appropriate behavior in a timely manner."

The correspondence between light signal and alert level is well known: Red Alert, i.e. extreme phenomena very dangerous for things and people, then Orange Alert, more intense phenomena than normal with possible dangers, finally Yellow Alert, i.e. intense phenomena, locally dangerous for specific activities.

The systems will be installed in the Intermodal Centre, in the Sirai area, in Bacu Abis and in Cortoghiana .

According to Civil Protection Councillor Giuseppe Casti, "this intervention is part of a broader effort to strengthen the Civil Protection system and increase the safety of our community."

The system will be integrated with new road signs in areas historically subject to flooding.
