They received the citizen's income, but they were not entitled to it. Thirty "crafty" were discovered and denounced by the Carabinieri of Carbonia , who carried out a complex investigative activity, not yet concluded, in collaboration with colleagues from the Cagliari Labor Inspectorate Nucleus.

The investigations revealed that 14 foreigners had obtained the benefit by certifying that they were residents of the municipality of Carbonia or by providing false declarations about their nationality.

Another 16 residents of the mining city also ended up in the military network who, by producing false certificates of their residence, failing to declare convictions or "forgetting" to communicate changes to their job position, continued to collect the income provided by the state.

In total, the sum received amounts to 319 thousand euros. For all those involved, the complaint was filed with the Public Prosecutor's Office because they were found guilty, for various reasons, of having unduly received the Citizenship Income by certifying falsehoods or failing to declare truthful information.
