Insurance costs rising for 23,000 Sardinian motorists . Some will spend more due to an at-fault accident declared in 2023. But even for those who did not cause accidents, car insurance rates are continuing to grow .

According to the Facile.it Observatory, in December 2023 to insure a four-wheel vehicle in Sardinia, on average, 544.08 euros were needed, i.e. 38.3% more than twelve months before .

The highest increases in the Cagliari area , over 40 percent. At a regional level, 2.76% of motorists declared an accident at fault, a percentage which is not only higher than the national one (2.33%), but also earns the region third place in the Italian ranking.

Analyzing the sample on a provincial basis, however, in first place is Cagliari (3.58%), followed by Oristano (2.45%), Sassari (2.32%) and Southern Sardinia (2.11%). Nuoro closes the ranking: in percentage terms, fewer at-fault accidents were reported to insurance companies (1.76%) .
