The work was initially supposed to be completed by the end of 2024, then the date was moved up a year, but with the construction site stopped for months it is hard to believe that the Su Loi link road will be completed soon. Engines of vehicles turned off, not a single worker in action: the work on the old Strada statale 195 that passes through Capoterra is far from being completed, a problem that affects the safety of residents in the area and the many motorists forced every day to travel along a bypass full of dangers.

The mayor, Beniamino Garau, says he is worried about the prolonged stoppage of the works: «The works for the demolition of the two bridges and the construction of a viaduct that would not hinder the flow of water from the San Girolamo and Masone Ollastu rivers should have been finished a long time ago, instead the construction site is at a standstill and it is not known when the workers will return to work. We have decided to directly request the intervention of the Ministry of Infrastructure, it is unacceptable that the construction of such an urgent work should be blocked without a reason . We are also concerned about the general conditions of the Strada statale 195, dirty and abandoned: we hope that the Anas will ratify the transfer of this infrastructure to the Municipality as soon as possible».

From the minority benches, former mayor Francesco Dessì highlights the danger of the stretch of road that the residents of the area are forced to use: "Since there are no alternatives, those who live between Frutti d'Oro and Su Loi can only use the bypass built to allow the work, that road represents a threat to those who travel on it because it is narrow and unlit . It is also unfortunate that during the work the planners were unable to find a solution to allow residents to move on foot from one residential area to another".

Giampaolo Agri lives in Torre degli Ulivi and began denouncing the inadequacy of that road from the first day it was opened to traffic: " We tried everything, we even contacted those responsible for the works, but nothing was done to make that route safer . There is no lighting, and on the curves vehicles risk colliding head-on: a mockery, if you consider that the work on the link road was supposed to be completed last year."

Anas, in a note, explains how it is ready to take action against the executing company: "After having requested an increase in the work, we are evaluating the adoption of specific actions against the contractual commitments not fulfilled ."
