Capoterra will be able to count on the arrival of two new Carabinieri officers: with these new additions, the number of officers serving at the local station rises to ten. This station ensures the safety of a town of 24,000 inhabitants, where "Code Red" cases related to domestic violence are on the rise.

Welcoming the two new Carabinieri, along with the commander of the Cagliari Company, Captain Simone Anelli, and the commander of the Capoterra station, Lieutenant Leonardo Del Gaudio, was Mayor Beniamino Garau, who thanked the force for sending additional forces to Capoterra: "Two new Carabinieri mean greater coverage, greater listening, and greater proximity. They mean we are even closer to the citizens, to protect and defend our community. We thank General Luigi Grasso, provincial commander of the Carabinieri, for granting our request."

On the day Capoterra, which in the past has relied on a larger Carabinieri presence, welcomes two new Carabinieri officers, it's inevitable to analyze the situation that most concerns the municipal administration and law enforcement: abuse and violence perpetrated within family settings. "According to our data, also recorded thanks to the great work of Social Services, just under sixty Code Red cases have been recorded in the last year," explains Garau, "but the number could be even higher, given that, unfortunately, domestic violence goes unreported. Behind a situation like this, it's clear that the forces on the ground—despite the great work carried out every day by the Carabinieri led by Lieutenant Del Gaudio—are insufficient. Our territory, also geographically, is complex; just consider that in an emergency, a patrol from the Sarroch Carabinieri station would arrive first to reach Torre degli Ulivi, rather than from the local one." Roberta Maxia, commander of the local police force, also considers the arrival of two new Carabinieri officers to be important for Capoterra's safety: "An increased law enforcement presence in the area not only allows residents to live more peacefully, but also acts as an important deterrent. Every day, supporting the Carabinieri, the local police and the Barracellare company ensure their presence in the area. In addition to human resources, technological resources are also important, given that, thanks to our sophisticated video surveillance system, we have been able to identify those responsible for fights, thefts, and vandalism on several occasions."
