Capoterra: the town stops to remember the flood victims

Capoterra remembers the victims of all the floods . On the day in which southern Sardinia was hit hard by bad weather , the municipal administration and the military authorities, the parish priest Don Gianni Locci and the choir led by Mariangela Marras met in front of the Town Hall to celebrate the day established last year to remember all the people who died over the years due to calamitous events.

The ceremony was also attended by relatives of the flood victims .

For the mayor, Beniamino Garau, remembering the people who lost their lives in the floods that have hit the area on several occasions is everyone's duty: «Last year we established this day not only to remember the victims of the flood of October 22, 2008, but also those of the past . This moment of commemoration also pushes us to commit ourselves to making our territory increasingly safe so that similar tragedies never happen again».
