Capoterra also becomes part of the Eurinsula twinning network, which promotes cultural and commercial exchanges and the valorisation of the territories of Sardinia and the Canary Islands. Mayor Beniamino Garau and the president of the Culture Commission Bernadette Puddu have joined the project which aims to strengthen cultural ties and exchange between the two regions.
The initiative, led by Isabel Vera, expert in intercultural tourism and president of Eurinsula, in collaboration with the Federación de Municipios de Canarias (Fecam), will allow the development of joint initiatives aimed at promoting cultural wealth and strengthening collaboration between the respective community, with a significant comparison between cultures.
«This twinning represents a unique opportunity for Sardinia and the Canary Islands – explains Isabel Vera -, because not only will it allow us to promote the extraordinary beauties of our territories, but it will also allow us to establish solid identity bonds between our island regions and enrich each other through an intercultural exchange".
