The Carabinieri intervened in the evening in Capoterra, after a resident reported being hit by an unspecified gunshot to the leg. "They shot me," he said when providing initial information on what happened. The victim is not in danger of life and was then able to indicate the alleged attacker , who spontaneously showed up at the local Carabinieri station a few minutes after the incident.

Investigations are currently underway to reconstruct the dynamics of the event and ascertain responsibilities.

The episode occurs a month after another injury caused by gunshots, again in Capoterra: in that circumstance a 26-year-old was injured .
