New exhibition spaces, more accessible and highly inclusive environments: the Museo della Laguna di Capoterra, renovated after the removal of physical and cognitive barriers, will be inaugurated tomorrow at 10.
The Mulag, which is located in Casa Spadaccino, thus becomes a highly inclusive museum, ready to welcome visitors with disabilities. The new look of the museum was made possible thanks to the funds of the Pnrr destined for the removal of physical and cognitive barriers in museums and public cultural places not belonging to the Ministry of Culture.
"The interventions have made Mulag an even more inclusive and accessible place - explains the director, Giovanna Cocco -, through the new installations it will be possible to live sensorial and multimedia experiences that allow an immersive interaction with the history and the environment of the Santa Gilla Lagoon, offering scientific dissemination tools designed for everyone. The museum operators have received specific training thanks to the collaboration with museums such as the Muse of Trento, the Mart of Rovereto and the Tolomeo museum of Bologna".
Saturday will open with greetings from the mayor, Beniamino Garau, and the presentation of the project "Mulag - a museum without barriers". A dialogue will follow with Piera Levi-Montalcini, a long-time promoter of scientific culture and granddaughter of Rita Levi-Montalcini, who will share reflections on how much determination is necessary to follow one's dreams, against walls erected by social, economic, gender, political and racial prejudices.
