Detainee in the High Security area of the Uta prison, for Camorra crimes, had a cell phone.

The news was disclosed by the secretary of Sappe Sardegna, Luca Fais. This morning an investigative activity conducted by the department coordinator and general surveillance, the prison police union reports, led to a search in the High Security area where a microcellular phone owned by a well-known member of a Camorra clan was found .

Thus, after yesterday's protest in front of the Prefecture of Sassari, convened to denounce the emergency situation in Sardinian prisons, today even the prison police staff on duty in Cagliari proclaimed the state of agitation of the category due to the difficult and precarious operating conditions and work in the Uta correctional facility.

«We were forced to proclaim a state of agitation», explains Fais, «because of the measures taken by the Uta management on the modification of working hours without any type of information being given to the workers' representatives. For some days, prison police personnel have been subjected to constant 8-hour shifts which easily turn into 10/12 hours due to the criticality of the institute and the consequent absences due to illness of the staff exhausted by exhausting shifts and services ».
