Work has begun inside the Monte Claro park in Cagliari for the construction of a 900 meter long cycle/pedestrian path and for the redevelopment of the car park in front of the metropolitan library named after Emilio Lussu.
The new route will develop from the entrance of the Cittadella della Salute in via Romagna to the main access of the Monte Claro park in via Cadello, offering an opportunity for sustainable connection through the green area between the neighborhoods of La Vega, Fonsarda, San Benedict and Is Mirrionis. The track designed by the Metropolitan City of Cagliari as part of the Integrated Urban Plan will cost 356 thousand euros and is financed with PNRR funds.

«The intervention is part of the broader project to enhance the entire Monte Claro complex, aimed at making this important green lung of the city a point of reference for recreational, sporting and cultural activities available to all citizens», he explains the general director of the institution Stefano Mameli .

«It is a great satisfaction to have managed to carry out an intervention, which has been on hold for many years, which will allow many people to enjoy a cycle/pedestrian path safely and in a valuable landscape context».
