Today at 4:00 PM, the conference room of the State Archives of Cagliari will host the meeting "Women and Nation: Rereading the Risorgimento in the Light of March 8th and March 17th."

The initiative is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of women's role and their active presence in historical processes. Two significant dates will serve as a link: March 8th, "International Women's Day," and March 17th, "Anniversary of the Unification of Italy." The juxtaposition of the two celebrations allows us to reflect on Italy's history and the value of women's contributions to social and civil causes, on collective memory, and on the need for a national historiographical narrative that does not overlook women's contributions.

Speakers include Nicoletta Bazzano, professor at the University of Cagliari's Department of Literature, Languages, and Cultural Heritage, and Anna Maria Isastia, former professor at La Sapienza University of Rome. Introductions include Enrico Trogu, director of the State Archives of Cagliari, and Marco Pignotti, professor at the University of Cagliari's Department of Literature, Languages, and Cultural Heritage.
