They attempted the coup in an electrical appliance store in viale Monastir, in Cagliari . But it went wrong: someone called 113 and the two thieves were arrested by police officers.
The episode dates back to yesterday afternoon, around 5pm. After the phone call to the police station, the policemen rushed to the place indicated and found a thirty-two year old resident in the hinterland in front of the open gate. It was the pole.
Meanwhile, the accomplice, a forty-year-old from Cagliari who was in the back, noticed the presence of the agents and tried to escape into the surrounding fields. His escape didn't last long: he was blocked by men from another crew.
The policemen viewed the images of the store's video surveillance system, which captured some phases of the theft. The two were immortalized as they pushed a trolley with items taken from the shelves towards the exit.
The stolen goods were found close to the fence: there were six vacuum cleaners, four air fryers and two ovens, for a total value of around 1,100 euros.
All items, still intact in their packaging, were returned after the owner's complaint. The two petty thieves were arrested and validated this morning by the magistrate.
