After 5 years the bridge reopens inside the Terramaini Park in Cagliari, damaged in 2016 by a fire.

At the inauguration ceremony the mayor Paolo Truzzu also: "There was no delay in the works", underlined the mayor, "in fact, when they started it was realized that it was necessary to intervene in a structural way on all over the bridge. However, this required a new call for tenders, thanks to auction discounts ".

Other interventions - explained Truzzu - are already planned. "We have other resources to improve the stay inside the Park -, the sidnaco announced." In this way we will be able to improve the sessions and there will be more games for children and more tools for those who do sports ". In addition," other jobs they will interest Pirri's greenery. They will help improve the quality of life in this area of Cagliari ".

The restoration work on the bridge concerned in particular the structural elements compromised by the fire. In addition, all 48 beams were replaced with specimens in oak wood, while the decking and parapets were replaced with homologous elements in larch wood, all previously subjected to treatments with impregnating paints to protect against parasites and atmospheric agents. The entrances facing the bridge and the step-marking lighting system have also been restored.

For the councilor for public green, Giorgio Angius, the Terramaini park "is an example of connection between the various municipalities of the hinterland", said the owner of the public green. "The guideline that this municipal administration has adopted and intends to bring forward, on the one hand is to bring the city closer to the sea, on the other hand to unite the entire urban conurbation of the metropolitan city through greenery ".
