Ropes and poles around the dunes that have been formed in the last twenty years, after the 2002 nourishment, to avoid trampling and the dispersion of the sand. New and limited entrances to the beach, an experimental system of "weeding" on the dunes to preserve the sand during high tide phenomena (the first in Italy).

The Poetto of Cagliari loses a meter of sand every year (swallowed by the sea) and the Municipality intervenes with a prevention plan to protect the beach . This morning the Environment Commission, together with the mayor Paolo Truzzu and the councilor Alessandro Guarracino, made an inspection to verify the progress of the works .

"We must do everything to protect a precious resource that is in the heart of Cagliari," said Truzzu. «Let's see how this project goes, but together with everyone's greater respect for Poetto, we are confident in a good result».
