The "Giovanni Lilliu" didactic direction is the "sentinel" institute in which anti-Covid-19 monitoring will be carried out with salivary tests and as required by the Sars-Cov-2 circulation monitoring plan prepared by the emergency commissioner in primary and lower secondary schools.
The aim is to help reduce the likelihood of spreading the infection by limiting the consequent public health measures.
Thanks to the work and availability of the manager, Alessandra Cocco, the "Giovanni Lilliu" didactic direction will therefore guarantee the participation of students in monitoring throughout the school year. The young people will be subjected every two weeks to a molecular test on a salivary sample, a simple and less invasive method than the nasopharyngeal swab.
After an initial phase in which the sampling will be handled by Ats health personnel, the same families will then perform the tests at home, after adequate training always by the health personnel.
I would like to thank the executive Cocco for having responded to this initiative, making herself available to monitor Covid with this methodology. I also thank the families who have collaborated and will collaborate to make tests on their children possible, thus helping the entire school community to monitor the spread of the virus. It is a gesture of great responsibility, which makes us protagonists in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic ", the comment of Rita Dedola, councilor for public education of the Municipality of Cagliari.
"I responded to this important initiative - recalls Alessandra Cocco - by sharing it primarily with families and school staff: they will contribute to the realization of a very important public health initiative. The school must be a place where prevention is carried out, to ensure continuation. of face-to-face teaching ".
