They will be in the square on Monday 19 May, from 11 am, in front of the San Giovanni di Dio hospital. Patients, activists and citizens will gather for a sit-in organized by Lila Cagliari against the management of the transfer of the HIV center, which for weeks has forced those undergoing treatment to move between two hospital facilities, separated by eight kilometers, for visits and collection of drugs.

The protest aims to obtain the provision of therapy directly in the San Giovanni di Dio clinic , where the center was transferred from the Duilio Casula Polyclinic "without warning or communication to patients", explains Brunella Mocci of the association.

The move, which occurred within 48 hours a few weeks ago, has created disorientation and logistical difficulties for hundreds of people , who now find themselves forced to shuttle between two hospitals to complete a fundamental therapeutic process. Lila reports having received 178 reports via email from users followed by the center, many of whom complain of delays, confusion and the impossibility of reconciling the new methods with work schedules.

The Tribunal for Patients' Rights, the Arc association and Cittadinanzattiva also joined the mobilization, while an online petition has exceeded 400 signatures in less than five days.

Meanwhile, the issue is already being addressed by the extraordinary commissioner of AOU, Vincenzo Serra, who took office just two weeks ago .
