We are in via Manno, a very central shopping street. The talented Spanish violinist Jacob Gonzalez plays, one of the most popular street artists of the Sardinian capital who performs every weekend in the area with his vast repertoire, ranging from classics such as Bach and Mozart to pop music.
A local dealer did not like and invited him to leave, threatening to call the police, who then actually called. According to witnesses, the artist began to collect the equipment but all passers-by gathered around him.
The crowd has become gradually thicker, especially with the arrival of the carabinieri. Soldiers who have done nothing, except whisper something in his ear and leave, leaving him there to continue playing, amid applause. While the offerings in the violin case continued to increase, and banknotes were added to the usual change.
The parish priest Don Raimondo Mameli also attended the scene, who wrote a post about the incident: “He is the violinist Jacob Gonzalez, he plays very well and is a valuable artist. The person who called the carabinieri to get him away must be ashamed. Honor to the police who intelligently treated the artist in an exquisite way, who was able to continue his performance amid applause. (Hatred of beauty is demonic) ".
