Now there is very little left: the structure is almost ready, the six large cold rooms are already assembled. The same goes for the refrigerated counters in the garages. The entire road plan around it has also already been studied, as has the implementation of the CTM connections which will provide shuttle buses, the new car parks within the structure and those that will be created in via Sant'Alenixedda.

«In autumn the San Benedetto dealers will move to the temporary structure in Piazza Nazzari», explains the mayor of Cagliari Massimo Zedda, who this morning carried out an inspection of the structure which for at least two years will host the San Benedetto market due for renovation. The car park will soon be opened, but will be operational, with one hundred and fifty stalls next to the Parco della Musica. There would actually be 370 parking spaces, but the upper floor will be occupied by six cold rooms for the operators.

A shuttle system is also planned to bring the entire district, from via Paoli to via Galilei, closer to the temporary structure "moved" a few tens of meters from Piazza Giovanni XIII. A meeting with the pit owners and workers will be convened within the next two weeks. «An arrangement for the operators is envisaged», said Zedda, «which is similar to what customers of the San Benedetto market are used to».
