Improper robbery and resistance and injuries to a public official. These are the charges that a 27-year-old of Algerian origin must answer, arrested last night by the Carabinieri of the Cagliari-Stampace Station.
The young man, with no criminal record, was intercepted by the military after being reported for stealing a cell phone from a young girl.
It was the latter - a 15-year-old - who raised the alarm, addressing a patrol of the Carabinieri passing by on Via Roma, on the corner with Largo Carlo Felice.
The girl reported that shortly before, a stranger had forcibly stolen her iPhone from her back pocket, then pushed her away and ran away.
Having collected the young woman's testimony, the Carabinieri managed to track down the thief nearby, in Piazza Matteotti. Then, after a brief chase on foot, the man was stopped, despite his attempts to resist and repeated pushes to try to free himself.
In the end, the 27-year-old ended up in handcuffs, while the stolen goods were returned to the young woman.
