A one-day-old baby girl was urgently transferred from Cagliari to Milan with a Falcon 50 emergency transport aircraft of the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force.

"The emergency flight, requested by the Prefecture of Cagliari - explains the Air Force - was immediately arranged and coordinated by the Situation Room of the Summit of the Command of the Air Force, the operations room of the Air Force which has among its tasks also that of activating and managing urgent medical transport, through the aircraft that the Armed Forces has ready, 24 hours a day, every day of the year for this kind of need".

Once in Cagliari, the Falcon 50, which took off from Ciampino, embarked the thermal cradle with the little patient and then immediately took off for Milan Linate.

Having landed in the Lombard airport, the newborn was then transferred by ambulance to the Institute for Hospitalization and Care of a Scientific Character Policlinico San Donato.
