773 checks in marine and terrestrial archaeological areas , 346 checks in areas protected by landscape / monumental constraints, 194 checks at commercial businesses in the sector, 40 inspections to ascertain the safety status of museums and 1228 checks on cultural assets offered for sale through the various digital commerce platforms: these are the activities carried out in 2021 by the carabinieri of the Cultural Heritage Protection Unit of Cagliari .

61 complaints followed, with 502 archaeological finds recovered and 13 properties subjected to preventive seizure for monumental and landscape crimes (including prestigious villas and an eighteenth-century rural sanctuary), for a total value of 12 million euros.

Among the most important operations, the execution of a preventive seizure, issued by the Judicial Authority of Tempio Pausania, of 11 real estate units with related appurtenances and green areas, of particular value, following the referral for various reasons of 21 people for illegal subdivision , abuse of office and works carried out in the absence or discrepancy of landscape authorization.

Also recovered a wooden crucifix of the fifteenth century, of the Tuscan school, which had been stolen from the Church of the Santissimo Crocifisso in Galtellì at the end of the 1980s.
