At least one out of two patients in Cagliari should not have ended up in the emergency room. This is confirmed by the data on accesses to the emergency structures of the city's hospitals in January, when there were very heavy inconveniences with ambulances forced to wait whole days with the sick on board, because there was no space.

At the Santissima Trinità out of 2352 patients, 924 were classified as green codes and 51 even as white. So their conditions weren't serious enough to necessarily have to go to a hospital. But, as also admitted by the regional health councilor in the Council's Health Commission this morning, there are no alternatives in the area, such as sufficient medical guards or general practitioners. And all are taken to the emergency room ( HERE THE NEWS ).

The same situation occurred at Brotzu. Out of 3386 total accesses, 1513 were classified as green codes (over 1200 presented themselves on their legs) and 261 as white. Similar proportions also at the Polyclinic: 2619 patients in all, 1011 green and 156 white. Few had passed through a filter facility: almost all went straight to the hospital.
