The promise was that of a jacaranda. Instead, a fake flowerbed has been placed in Piazza Africo, at the entrance to the La Palma district in Cagliari : the green area is not grass, but plastic.

«A year ago 411 citizens asked the Municipality for a redevelopment intervention for a large space with many unadorned flower beds and fallen and never replaced trees, unusable games and closed fountains. After a good year of discussions», attacks the municipal councilor of Possibile, Francesca Mulas, «the fountains have been restored, the flower beds have remained unadorned and the games are still cordoned off».

But above all «the municipal workers were expected to set up a jacaranda in the center of the square, as promised by the offices. And instead a few days ago the surprise: the workers arrived, but after a good casting of cement they arranged a beautiful green flowerbed in place of the tree. Of plastic. Yes, a synthetic lawn was preferred to a tree that would have brought shade and oxygen».

The story ended up at the center of a question deposited in the offices of the hall of Palazzo Bacaredda.
