They were (and continue to be) one of the unknowns linked to the large construction site in Via Roma, the theme of the electoral campaign which ended a few days ago: the trees that will form that long green promenade (over five thousand square metres) desired by star architect Stefano Boeri will to cover the visual cone from the Marina to the port?

Since yesterday the first ones appeared on the construction site and the workers began planting inside the old "Discovered Walk". The philosophy that revolves around is that of urban forestation of the city, to protect biodiversity, combat the effects of climate change and purify the air: with the planting of more than 200 new trees, the creation of a new city park accessible from the entire front of Via Roma.

The objective of the project is to "contribute to increasing the presence of greenery, capable of retaining fine dust and absorbing CO2, as well as mitigating the microclimate". If the company is starting to plant new trees it means (perhaps) that the first part of the construction site is nearing completion (it was said at the end of July). The Superintendency has already expressed its opinion on this matter: the species chosen must not overshadow the landscape.
