According to the police officers' accusations , they ran a drug market directly from their home , in a building on Via Seruci in Cagliari . Mother and daughter (52 and 24 years old) were arrested by investigators from the Flying Squad at the end of an operation with stakeouts and checks on customers. And even during the search, some people arrived and asked the plainclothes officers where they could buy doses of heroin and cocaine.
At the end of the raid, money was seized : about 500 euros, as well as a precision scale and a sheet of paper with the names and numbers of the customers. After having given some doses to some customers, the two women apparently noticed the presence of the plainclothes police officers and managed - according to the prosecution - to get rid of the sachets by throwing them in the toilet.
After spending the night under house arrest as ordered by deputy prosecutor Danilo Tronci, yesterday morning the two women, assisted by lawyer Riccardo Floris, were tried by summary trial. Judge Alessandra Tedde, after validating the arrest, released the mother and daughter - without any precautionary measures - setting the next hearing for February 12.
