Mariano Olla died by drowning and had been in the sea for several hours, about three, when he was found by fishermen next to the beach of Diga , in the area of the Cuore parking lot of the former stadium in Sant'Elia, Cagliari. This is the result of the autopsy performed today by the coroner Roberto Demontis at the Brotzu hospital: the examination began around 10:30 and ended around 16:00.

On the body of the sixteen-year-old from Sestu there were no signs or wounds that could suggest the action of third parties. To clarify what caused the drowning we will now have to wait for the results of the histological and toxicological tests.
Olla, as emerged from the investigations of the Mobile Squad agents coordinated by the director Davide Carboni, participated in a party on the night between Friday and Saturday on the beach. More than 150 young people were present, many minors. Yet no one saw the boy walk away, perhaps feel ill and end up in the sea. And then not even a person who noticed the body of the sixteen-year-old from Sestu a few meters from the shore, before the currents carried him to the left, in the direction of Sant'Elia.

Not even those who reached the party location advertised on social media with Olla questioned their friend's absence when it was time to return home. Investigators have heard more than ten witnesses and the investigation continues in the inquiry for failure to provide assistance coordinated by prosecutor Diana Lecca.
