A bad surprise for the residents of the San Benedetto part of Cagliari , which gravitates around the former school in via Boito. The building must be demolished and a six-month ban on parking and transit will take effect.

The plan - which had received the go-ahead in 2012 under the then Zedda council - provides for the construction of social housing in the residential district.

The works, at least on paper, are about to start. And "some work cannot be carried out in the presence of traffic", reads the order signed by the manager of the Mobility service, Daniele Olla.

The signs have already appeared: the bans on the neighboring streets (in addition to via Boito also via Rossini and via Donizetti) take effect from 5 December and will remain in force until 31 May.

In via Donizetti, we read, "in the section between street number 92a excluded, on the left side, up to the intersection with via Boito and street number 67 excluded, on the right side, up to the intersection with via Boito", is ordered "the closure to vehicular traffic, except for company vehicles and the establishment of a parking ban with forced removal valid from 0-24, except for company vehicles".

Furthermore "in via Donizetti in the section between the street number from street number 92a, on the left side, up to the intersection with via Pergolesi and from street number 67, on the right side, up to the intersection with via Pergolesi" comes "the establishment of prohibition of vehicular circulation", while "transit is allowed for ambulances, firefighters, police, vehicles serving disabled people and vehicles to reach garages". Set the establishment of the parking ban with enforced removal validity 0-24.

And again "in via Rossini, on both sides of the stretch between via Boito and street number 65a excluded" here is "the establishment of the parking ban with forced removal valid from 0-24, except for company vehicles" and also “the establishment of the reduction of the carriageway with a residual lane open to traffic 3.50 meters wide”. Also decided was "the temporary closure to traffic during the demolition phases of the building's masonry (the closure must not be contemporary with the closure of the section of via Boito)".

Then via Boito: on both sides of the stretch between via Rossini and via Donizetti he decided "the establishment of the parking ban with forced removal valid from 0-24, except for company vehicles" and "the establishment of the reduction of carriageway with a residual lane open to traffic 3.50 meters wide", in addition to the "temporary closure to traffic during the demolition of the building's masonry".
