Cagliari, flames in the red tower of Monreale: black smoke invades the building

Fire in the red tower of Monreale, one of the glass buildings that have characterized the neighborhood for years, in Pirri.

The alarm was raised by some residents of the area, worried about the thick black smoke coming out of the abandoned building. The firefighters intervened to put out the flames that, according to the first videos spread on social media and in chats, seem to have broken out on the top floors of the building. The Police were also on site.

The Red Tower is part of a complex of buildings built in 1981, but many of them were never completed and are now frequented by vandals.
