A policeman was bitten by a large dog yesterday evening in Cagliari. The Volanti had intervened in the area of Viale Bonaria where a dispute had been reported through a call to 113.

When the spirits of those present had calmed down, suddenly one of the officers was bitten in the calf by the animal. At that point, the policeman - who has specific preparation for having attended training courses - used the supplied taser to let the dog let go, thus avoiding worse consequences.

Rescued by 118, the agent was transported to the hospital where he was assigned eight days of treatment. The owner of the animal was instead reported for lack of custody.
