In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, the “Alberibelli” exhibition by Emanuela Zoncu opened on Sunday in Cagliari, at Palazzo Doglio. A special edition that celebrates the link between Sardinian tradition and the universal symbolism of Christmas, interpreted through a series of tree-objects.
"The exhibition aims to transform the concept of the Christmas tree into an artistic and cultural reflection that pays homage to the historical and cultural roots of Sardinia, deeply linked to Nature, which is still its mother and guardian today," explains Emanuela Zoncu. "The tree, a universal symbol of life, rebirth and hope, is transformed and becomes the emblem of Sardinia, a land where Nature remains the most precious asset. Each tree becomes a message of beauty that crosses time, celebrating the cultural richness of the Island and the value of craftsmanship."
The technique used in the creation of the works is mixed with the use of textile materials typical of traditional Sardinian costumes such as brocade and velvet, with the addition of trimmings and artisanal reproductions of Sardinian artefacts and symbols.
Emanuela Zoncu, journalist, began her artistic journey with abstraction, exploring the expressive potential of form and color and experimenting with materials and techniques. Over time, her research focused on Sardinia. A journey that led to the development of artistic projects that combine the modernity of contemporary art with the deep roots of Sardinia. After the Solo Exhibition at the Mem in Cagliari (artistic project in acrylic on canvas) it is now on display until January 31st.
