Cagliari celebrates a new centenary.
She is Mrs. Elvira Ieriti : Calabrian, born in Brancaleone on January 21, 1926, she is now a Cagliari native after eighty years in the city. She was just twenty years old, immediately after the war, when she moved to the island.
From there, she built a family with her husband, Mr. Marco Matta, a metalworker and electrician by profession : four children (two sons and two daughters), 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren to whom she has dedicated her life. And another great passion, she is keen to emphasize: "I'm a true lover of the sea."
The president of the city council, Marco Benucci, brought the administration's best wishes, honouring her in her home at the Cep with a parchment and a commemorative medal: «Mrs Elvira is an example of dedication and care for her dearest loved ones and for Cagliari, which entered her heart when she was very young and has never left».
