After discovering the theft of his city bike, he was approached by a man who asked him for money in exchange for its return.
The attempted extortion resulted in the arrest of a 46-year-old unemployed man from Cagliari.
The Radiomobile police intervened last night in via Trexenta. The person who called them was a 51-year-old from Selargius who told how his city bike, placed with a special support on the back of his parked car, had disappeared. And he also told the military that he had been approached by a man who had asked him for a ransom.
The police tracked down the perpetrator of the attempted extortion and arrested him. The city bike was returned.
The 46-year-old, placed under house arrest, will appear in court today for the validation hearing.
