Raise awareness among students and pay homage to the memory of the innocent victims of the mafia . This is the objective that motivated the project of the "Foiso Fois" artistic and musical high school in Cagliari which in the Pirri headquarters, in via Bixio, gave life to an evocative garden of legality .

Ten olive trees were planted, donated by Professor Gianni Piu, which were dedicated to as many victims of the mafia : Emanuela Loi, Paolo Borsellino, Giovanni Falcone, Bonifacio Tilocca, Rita Atria, Anna Nocera, Don Graziano Muntoni, Vito Schifani, Don Dino Puglisi, Domenico Gabriele “Dodò”.

The initiative , strongly supported by the school director, Professor Nicoletta Rossi, and by the office representatives, Professors Vincenza Tabacco and Barbara Ardau, was organized by the teachers and students of the institute together with the Libera association, in the presence of the representative regional Giampiero Farru in view of the XXIX Day of Remembrance and Commitment which is celebrated on March 21st.

A "Tablet of the Law" made of wood by Professor Mauro Rizzo with the name of one of the victims was also placed under each shrub. Table of the law which «over time – the institute explains – will be absorbed by the earth» giving nourishment to the plants of mafia victims in a sort of virtuous circularity.

«In Sardinia there are over 200 assets seized from the underworld and often assigned to voluntary associations - explain the teachers Stefano Zorco and Gian Luigi Pittau - This garden of legality must serve to be reborn and raise its head again with the aim of freeing itself from the oppression of the mafias . Remembering the innocent victims with the beginning of spring also means remembering them "alive", as their families ask us. The mafias have tried to annihilate them and erase them forever, but the commitment of all of us manages to make them reborn and make them live again."
