With the aim of meeting the will of the Regional Council for the reduction of waiting times for the services subject to monitoring of Diagnostic Imaging, the Local Health Authority of Cagliari has approved a project developed by the Radiology service which will involve hospitals in the area company - Santissima Trinità, Marino and Microcitemico of Cagliari, San Marcellino di Muravera and San Giuseppe di Isili - through the use of additional services.

The project, scheduled for the period from May to December, will consist in the opening of the Cup for computed tomography and magnetic resonance performances every Saturday from 8 to 20 at the Santissima Trinità , and alternatively at the Marino and at the Microcitemico, always every Saturday from 8 to 20 for the same services.

Furthermore, there are two additional midweek afternoon shifts at Is Mirrionis for ultrasound services and one at Microcitemico. The opening of the Cup is also planned, always on Saturdays, at San Marcellino di Muravera.

«For the latter facility, the project is broader and includes not only the opening to the Cup but a new organization that allows the coverage of urgent radiology exams from the Emergency Department during night and holiday shifts which will inevitably increase as the summer period in a tourist resort», explains Stefano Marcia, director of ASL Radiology, «this project will lead to an increase of over 3000 Diagnostic Imaging exams for the year 2023».

The general manager Marcello Tidore complimented the health workers of the Company "because their effort will lead us to reduce waiting times for the lists and to give support to people who need public health who want to be present on the territory not only on the urban area but also on the extra-urban area".
