The carabinieri of the Sant'Avendrace station in Cagliari arrested a 22-year-old Gambian, homeless, unemployed with previous charges against a public official on charges of serious personal injury.

The man, arguing in via Premuda with his 33-year-old compatriot who is also well known to the police, hit him in the right hand with the neck of a glass bottle.

Carabinieri intervened on the spot and by chance passed on the same road. They tried to stop the attacker, who struggled in a futile attempt to flee.

A patrol from the Radiomobile Section of the carabinieri in via Nuoro and an ambulance of 118 intervened: the injured person was first transported to the emergency room of the Monserrato polyclinic then, given the extent of the injuries, to Brotzu for surgery.
