A plant with a strong and proud trunk to not forget the smile and sweetness of little Leonardo Zucca . Yesterday morning in Cagliari, in the garden of the primary school in via Is Guadazzonis , a small olive tree was planted , which as it grows will continue to remember the student who passed away at only six years old after fighting a terrible disease .

The olive tree is meant to be a symbol of hope and new life . This is why it was chosen by the primary school in via Is Guadazzonis of the state comprehensive institute “Randaccio-Tuveri- Colombo-Don Milani”, to honor his memory. During the ceremony , which took place yesterday morning, Wednesday 21 February, in the garden of the institute that Leonardo attended, his classmates chose to remember him by reading thoughts dedicated to him, in which his smile and his temperament were remembered and moments of their days at school were shared.

Present were Giulia Andreozzi , Councilor for Public Education, Support for Study and Knowledge of the Municipality of Cagliari and Luisa Giua Marassi , Councilor for Urban Ecology, Environment and Public Greenery: the councilors brought greetings and expressed the closeness of the Municipal Administration to Leonardo's parents and relatives, present at the event, and to his schoolmates, teachers and the headmistress who have accompanied the child since childhood, sharing with him the hardest moments related to the course of the disease.

The olive tree was planted thanks to the contribution of the Cittadinanzattiva Sardegna association , which donated the plant to the school, and with the support of the Municipality's public green service.
