Stop consuming drinks around the church of Sant'Eulalia. The Municipality of Cagliari establishes a red zone against alcohol and degradation in the Marina.

The decision comes from the mayor Paolo Truzzu, who adopted a "contingent and urgent ordinance for urban safety", in force from today until 31 May. The prohibition applies from 10pm to 6am and affects the stairway and surrounding areas.

Precisely the points where, especially on weekends, dozens of kids gather, with alcoholic evenings that often end up amid shouts and fights, making life impossible for the residents of the area.

The document states that the provision was adopted to protect "places of high cultural and tourist interest, of people and to safeguard urban safety, having taken note of the degradation phenomena that occur mainly at night".

Failure to comply with the order is punished with a fine ranging from 25 to 500 euros.
