Sarrabus: 300 illegal beach umbrellas removed. Thousands of euros in fines.

The Forestry Corps conducted a series of checks in the Sarrabus area: 300 illegal umbrellas were removed and fines totaling €15,000 were issued.
In total, six violations of state-owned concessions along the coast were found during inspections conducted jointly with the local police and the Technical Office of the concessionaires of the beach establishments in the area.
The checks were carried out by personnel from the Villaputzu Forestry Station and the Villasimius Naval Base , together with the local police and the Technical Office of the Municipality of Muravera.
During the activity, several irregularities were found, including:
- illegal occupation of the beach in violation of the authorizations granted;
- occupation of the 5-meter strip from the shoreline – intended exclusively for free passage – with umbrellas, deck chairs and sun loungers;
- failure to delimit the areas covered by the concession;
- unauthorized installation of two wooden gazebos, a lane to the sea, and occupation of the beach with boats and various equipment;
- Illegal occupation of the 5-meter strip, resulting in the immediate removal of approximately 300 umbrellas and deckchairs.
As mentioned, the total fines exceed €15,000, and the order to restore the limits and spaces actually granted.
