Four dead and two seriously injured. All very young - among them at least one girl - between 19 and 20 years old, residing in the hinterland. This is the bloody toll of the terrible accident that occurred this morning just before dawn in Viale Marconi , in Cagliari .

The crash occurred at the height of the Median Axis overpass. According to the first summary information, all those involved were aboard the same vehicle , a dark Ford Fiesta, traveling in the direction of Quartu. No other vehicles are involved.

The car may have hit the pavement at high speed, then crashed into a low wall at number 105, and tragically overturned. In that section the direction of travel is opposite to that traveled by the Fiesta.

Two bodies remained inside the cockpit. All the others were thrown out. The injured were transported in code red to the Polyclinic and Brotzu.

The local police, the carabinieri, the firefighters and numerous 118 ambulances were on site. The road was closed to traffic.
